I emphasize three themes: for one, that pragmatism's future lies with its explicit recovery of the main purpose of Hegel's critique of Kant; for another that pragmatism Hegelianizes Darwin and Darwinizes Hegel; and for a third, that the best promise of pragmatism within Eurocentric philosophy may be glimpsed in the convergence between Peirce's and Cassirer's treatment of the continuum of the finite and infinite. In effect, both Peirce and Cassirer are Hegelianized Kantians. |
