عنوان : The developement of pragmatic communicative skills in jordanian children نوع الوثيقة : نص مطبوع مؤلفين : Madiha Senouci, مؤلف ; lotfi- abou el haidj, Directeur de thèse ناشر : Irbed : yarmouk university تاريخ النشر : 2013 عدد الصفحات : 143 p الأبعاد : 21*30 cm اللغة : إنكليزي (eng) الكلمة المفتاح : 400 - Langues 400 - Langues 400 - Language Développement linguistique des enfants - compétences pragmatiques - développement grammatical - test d'échantillon de langue - longueur moyenne des phrases - Jordanie. تكشيف : 428 الاستخدام اللغوي خلاصة : The present study aims at investigating children's pragmatic development of 25 behaviours in relation to three variables: age, gender and Mean Length of Utterances (MLU). It, also, attempts to generalize some conclusions concerning the universality of pragmatic development of 25 behaviours through generating some basic norms for such development. Participants of the study are 48 children ranging in age between 3 and 7 years old. They are gathered from two kindergartens and one public school in the Jordanian City of Irbid. Concerning the procedure followed for collecting data, language sampling and an elicitation test are administered to children. The results obtained from analyzing children's performance reveal a number of conclusions. It gives a repertoire of the development of 25 pragmatic behaviours in Jordanian children. A considerable number of behaviours are found to have been already developed in children before age 3, which confirms the universality of the early development of pragmatic skills in children. However, slight differences in performance are detected according to cultural reasons. On the other hand, child's pragmatic abilities prove to be developing with his grammatical development confirming the validity of the hypothesis claiming that children's pragmatic and grammatical skills develop in parallel. Also, pragmatic development does not seem to be influenced by gender differences, which indicates that gender differences in children's pragmatic development occur only at early age, then, they disappear after age three. Furthermore, a strong correlation is suggested between the child's age and his MLU score suggesting that MLU is a valid index of grammatical development; however, MLU proves to be not sensitive enough to detect gender differences in grammatical development; thus, the finding disagrees with all the studies that reported gender differences in children's grammatical acquisition. Concerning the prediction of pragmatic skills, MLU is found to be a better indicator of pragmatic skills in Jordanian children and the researcher suggests using MLU, rather than age, for grouping children in order to study their language development. في الخط : .http://repository.yu.edu.jo The developement of pragmatic communicative skills in jordanian children [نص مطبوع ] / Madiha Senouci, مؤلف ; lotfi- abou el haidj, Directeur de thèse . - Irbed : yarmouk university, 2013 . - 143 p ; 21*30 cm.
