This overview informs a critical analysis of the debates surrounding the African Union's call for withdrawal from the International Criminal Court and proposes a way forward with a more pertinent role for the Court. The work critically analyzes the arguments around withdrawal from the ICC and the extension of the jurisdiction of the African Court into criminal matters. It is held that this was not intended in the spirit of complementarity as envisaged by the Rome Statute, and is subject to political calculation and manipulation by national governments. Recasting the ICC as a court of second instance would provide a stronger institutional and jurisdictional regime. The book will be a valuable resource for students, academics, and policymakers working in the areas of international humanitarian law, international criminal law, African studies, and genocide studies africa and international criminal justice : radical evils and the international criminal court [نص مطبوع ] / fred, aja agwu, مؤلف . - New York, NY : Routledge, 2020 . - 221.p : couverture colorée ; 24. cm.

The theory of information ethics is used to critique the law's conception of violence and to develop an informational approach as an alternative way to think about cyber attacks. Cyber attacks against states constitute a new form of violence in the information age, and international law on the use of force is limited in its capacity to regulate them. This book draws on Luciano Floridi's theory of information ethics to critique the narrow conception of violence embodied in the law and to develop an alternative way to think about cyber attacks, violence, and the state. The author uses three case studies - the 2007 cyber attacks against Estonia, the Stuxnet incident involving Iran that was discovered in 2010, and the cyber attacks used as part of the Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election - to demonstrate that an informational approach offers a means to reimagine the state as an entity and cyber attacks as a form of violence against it."-- Cyber attacks and international law on the use of force : the turn to information ethics [نص مخطوط] / Samuli ,Haataja, Auteur présumé . - New York, NY : Routledge, 2019 . - 218.p : couverture colorée ; 24. cm.

Through expert review of successful case studies, readers can draw lessons from the actions that work to positively address target goals. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development identifies 17 Sustainable Development Goals ("SDGs") and 169 targets designed to catalyze action in critical areas of importance to humanity and the planet. The effort to implement the SDGs, however, demands a sense of urgency in the face of environmental degradation (including climate change), emerging conflicts and growing inequality. Now in the fifth year since the launch of the 2030 Agenda, this book takes stock of how far the world has come and how we can position ourselves to achieve the global targets. This publication provides a fresh look at implementation through the review and examination of various case studies from across the world; highlighting impactful and creative actions that go beyond the business as usual development efforts. The volume reinforces this analysis with expert recommendations on how to support implementation efforts and achieve the SDGs through both international and national strategies and the involvement of both the public and private sectors. The result is an indispensable textual tool for policy makers, academia, IGOs and NGOs, as well as the public, as we march towards the 2030 deadline"-- Provided by publisher Fulfilling the sustainable development goals [نص مخطوط] / Narinder, Kakar, Éditeur scientifique ; Vesselin, Popovski, Éditeur scientifique . - New York, NY : Routledge, 2022 . - 555.p : couverture colorée ; 24. cm.
